InspirARTE

InspirARTE (Inspire ART) is a silent art auction event organized by Acercamiento Hispano (Hispanic Outreach), the region's oldest and largest non-profit organization serving the Hispanic community.

At this time, we are organizing this year event.

Our most recent InspirARTE event took place at the South Carolina State Museum, in Columbia, on October 21, 2004. InspirARTE seeks to inform the public about the beauty and diversity of Latin American art, while supporting an organization that provides critical services to the Hispanic community. The soaring numbers of Latinos flocking to the region in the last few years have strained the resources of Acercamiento Hispano. These resources are vital to provide the social support system the community needs, including health, legal assistance, domestic violence support, employment and training services.

Welcome

On behalf of Acercamiento Hispano de Carolina del Sur, I would like to welcome you to the second annual InspirARTE Art Auction. This project was conceived not only as a way to raise funds for the area’s leading nonprofit organization in the service of Hispanics—Acercamiento Hispano de Carolina del Sur—but also as a means to expose the community to Latin American art.

“Inspirarte” is a Spanish word meaning, “Inspire yourself.” “InspirARTE also incorporates the Spanish word for art, “arte.”

This was the second year Acercamiento Hispano hosted InspirARTE. Based on our previous successes, we expect to have a considerable amount of art pieces for sale this year and an equally impressive attendance. Artists will craft artwork inspired by the creations and styles of four great Latin American artists.
